Send a letter online
Send your first letter straight from your browser: start with a finished PDF or write it in the editor. This guide takes you through the address, print options and price check to sending.
Preparation
What you need for your letter
No printer, no envelope and no stamp – just these four things.
Your letter as a PDF
A4 portrait, up to 20 MB; the system adjusts other page sizes automatically. One letter holds up to 94 pages single-sided or 188 pages double-sided.
Or no document at all
Without a finished PDF you write the letter in the template editor right in your browser.
Open the letter editor →The recipient address
If it sits in the address field according to DIN 5008, the system reads it from the PDF. Otherwise you type it in or pick a contact from your address book.
A free account
Sign up, try it in test mode and top up coins for real letters. You need a sender address in Germany. No subscription required.
Simple
Step by step: your letter goes out online
From the finished document to handover at Deutsche Post.
Save as PDF or write in the editor
If you wrote the letter in Word or another program, save it as a PDF. Without a finished document you write it in the browser editor.
Upload and check the address
Drag the PDF into the dashboard. The system checks format and page count and reads the address from the window area; check it and correct it if needed.
Choose colour and print sides
Black and white is enough for most letters. Colour or double-sided printing costs a few coins more; the final price is fixed before you send.
Send – the rest happens without you
We print, fold, envelope and frank the letter and hand it in at Deutsche Post. In the dashboard its status then changes to "Versendet" (sent).
Check before you send
- Is the right PDF fully uploaded, or is the text in the editor finished?
- Are the recipient name, street, house number, postcode and country correct? Check an automatically detected address too.
- Are the sender profile, colour and single- or double-sided printing set correctly? A cover page counts towards page count and price.
- Check the total price shown and whether you are working in test mode or sending a real letter.
